Uncensored ai API Documentation

Get an uncensored version of chatgpt running in minutes with our OpenAI-compatible API. Send a request, receive text, and bypass refusals without changing your existing client code.

Authentication and keys

Start by generating your API key on the Get API key page. Use Continue with Google or create an email and password account; no phone number is required. Your key appears immediately and grants access to the uncensored AI API. Copy this key for the Authorization header in every request. The base URL for all endpoints is https://api.uncensoredversionofchatgpt.com/v1.

Keep your key secure. If you generate a new key, the old one becomes invalid immediately. You can only have one active key per account.

Chat completions endpoint

Send text and receive text by posting to the chat completions endpoint. This is the core of the uncensored LLM API experience. Specify the model as uncensored to ensure the model answers without content refusals for lawful adult use. The endpoint accepts standard OpenAI SDK parameters.

Errors like missing keys return 401, while insufficient funds return 402. Refusals for minor-related content are free, but otherwise, you only pay for tokens used.

curl https://api.uncensoredversionofchatgpt.com/v1/chat/completions \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "uncensored",
    "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "List the top five terminal commands for disk cleanup"}]
  }'

Python SDK

Integrate the uncensored AI API into your Python projects by changing the base URL in the official OpenAI SDK. This keeps your code compatible with existing OpenAI workflows. Set the model to uncensored and pass your API key.

This approach works for simple scripts or complex applications. The SDK handles tokenization and request formatting automatically.

from openai import OpenAI

client = OpenAI(base_url="https://api.uncensoredversionofchatgpt.com/v1", api_key="YOUR_KEY")

resp = client.chat.completions.create(
    model="uncensored",
    messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Summarise this thread without softening it."}],
)
print(resp.choices[0].message.content)

Node SDK

For JavaScript or TypeScript environments, update the base URL in the Node SDK to point to our servers. This allows you to use the uncensored LLM online capabilities within your web or server-side applications.

Configure the client with your API key and the model ID. The SDK manages the connection and response parsing, letting you focus on your application logic.

import OpenAI from "openai";

const client = new OpenAI({ baseURL: "https://api.uncensoredversionofchatgpt.com/v1", apiKey: process.env.API_KEY });

const resp = await client.chat.completions.create({
  model: "uncensored",
  messages: [{ role: "user", content: "Draft a villain monologue for my game." }],
});
console.log(resp.choices[0].message.content);

Streaming responses

Receive text in real-time by enabling streaming in your requests. This is ideal for chat interfaces where you want to display tokens as they are generated. The server sends Server-Sent Events (SSE) for each token.

The final chunk in the stream includes the total token usage for the request. This allows you to track costs accurately as the response builds.

stream = client.chat.completions.create(
    model="uncensored",
    messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Tell the story in second person."}],
    stream=True,
)
for chunk in stream:
    if chunk.choices and chunk.choices[0].delta.content:
        print(chunk.choices[0].delta.content, end="", flush=True)

Rate limits and quotas

Your account is limited to 300 requests per minute and 8 concurrent requests per key. The maximum request body size is 8 MB. If you exceed these limits, the API returns a 429 error. The model supports a context window of 100,000 tokens for both input and output combined.

Max output per request is 16,000 tokens, or 2,048 if you do not specify max_tokens. These limits ensure stable performance for all users. Credit never expires, so you can use your balance whenever you need it.

Common questions

Is this the official uncensored version of chatgpt?

No, we are an independent service. We do not serve OpenAI's models. Our API is OpenAI-compatible, meaning it accepts the same requests and parameters, but it runs our own uncensored large language model on our servers. Check OpenAI's documentation for details on their specific models.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Crypto only: USDT on TRC20 or USDC on Base, any whole amount from $20 to $500. Bonus credit applies from $50.

What is the context window size?

The context window is 100,000 tokens, covering both the prompt and the completion. You can generate up to 16,000 tokens in a single response. If you do not set a max token limit, the default output is 2,048 tokens.
